2022 Winter School Registration Form

SYO Winter School combines high level orchestral tuition with an emphasis on developing team and ensemble skills in musicians. SYO Winter School provides a week-long open music program packed with choir rehearsals, large ensemble playing, masterclasses and tutorials, music theory and info sessions, as well as the opportunity to make friends and have fun!

CREATIVE KIDS VOUCHER
Claim your $100 Creative Kids rebate with Sydney Youth Orchestras! SYO is a registered Creative Kids provider and encourage the use of Creative Kids vouchers for our programs. Your voucher can be applied on Winter School enrolment to automatically receive $100 off your Winter School program fees.

REGIONAL PARTICIPATION
Any musician who is a primary or secondary school student and resides at least 200km from Sydney CBD is eligible to apply for scholarship support. Successful applicants will receive a full or partial waiver on the 2021 participation fee ($570.00+GST) plus a travel and accommodation bursary. The amount of this bursary is dependent on the circumstances of the applicant. Applications for the Regional Winter School Scholarship program closes on Friday 26 November 2021.

Please note, applying for a scholarship does not guarantee a place in the program. If your attendance is not dependent on receiving a scholarship then you may complete the below enrollment form to secure your place. If awarded a scholarship after the application and assessment process, you will receive a partial or full refund on the Standard Program.

You may apply for the scholarship without enrolling however this does not guarantee your place.

The HSC Preparatory program is not eligible for scholarship support.

SYO does not organise any accommodation for Winter School. Participants are to book their own accommodation.

Regional Winter School Scholarships

The SYO 2022 Winter School HSC Preparatory Program is a focused series of lectures and workshops designed to inspire, educate and engage any students making preparations for their HSC. Led by NSW music educators and long time HSC markers, this program will cover areas of theory and practice that relate specifically to the NSW HSC Music 2 curriculum. Participants can expect to receive intense training on theory, composition, essay writing, thesis development and constructive performance critique.

HSC takes place on July 11 - 15 (Monday to Thursday) from 3:30pm to 6pm.

SYO employees or volunteers can supply paracetamol with parental permission. For all other conditions or ailments, such as allergies, hayfever, colds etc, participants must have and administer their own medication. SYO employees or volunteers may supervise participants in the administrating of medication, once parental permission is provided.
