Thousands of young musicians have nurtured their love of orchestral music, had formative experiences and made lifelong friends in SYO.
Many of these musicians have gone on to professional careers in major orchestras both Australia and internationally.

As a not-for-profit organisation, SYO relies on your support to deliver our programs. Government funding and participation fees only cover a small portion of our costs, and the number of young musicians SYO has the capacity to train each year is a direct result of donations received.

The Opportunity Fund ensures that young musicians can be part of an orchestra regardless of their financial circumstances. It also allows us to provide programs for young musicians and communities in geographically isolated areas of New South Wales.
The Excellence Fund provides talented young musicians access to world-class conductors, opportunities to perform professionally, and access to tutorials and masterclasses with professional orchestras and international artists.
The Enterprise Fund supports SYO’s long term strategic goals including management infrastructure, providing instruments and equipment, and expanding our music library.
